Christ Memorial was launched in 1992 by NETS President Wes Pastor. It’s the home of our Residency Program and the model for NETS church plants.
Christ Memorial’s vision is “to see God display His power by saving sinners through the proclamation of the gospel by all of our members, to His eternal glory” (I Cor. 2:1-5).
By God’s grace, that vision is yielding much fruit. Christ Memorial is now the largest Baptist church in the state, with over 350 gathering each Sunday. The church has witnessed over 200 solid conversions, including several mini-awakenings, resulting in changed lives and restored families.
The church launched with the goal of becoming a reproducing church that would mentor future planters. That vision became a reality in 2000 with the establishment of NETS as a controlled corporation of Christ Memorial. NETS executes the church-planting vision of Christ Memorial Church.
“What excites me about Christ Memorial is authentic and pervasive love for the brethren in the context of faithful gospel proclamation,” notes Wes, who continues as the church’s senior minister. “I think we need more churches like that. And that’s what excites me about NETS.”
