NETS Distinctives

NETS IS FOCUSED

ON THE GOSPEL

Everything we do is driven by a commitment to the historic gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe gospel proclamation is the only effective and universally relevant church planting strategy. Residents learn to apply the gospel more intentionally to their lives and their churches. We want to plant gospel-driven churches, where every ministry flows from and points to Christ and His gospel.

ON CHURCH PLANTING

NETS is focused on planting churches. We don’t revitalize churches or train men for existing pastorates. But we will do whatever it takes to help each NETS plant reach long-term viability. And we don’t stop there. The NETS Network provides ongoing support for all of our churches, and the Plant New England conference serves the New England church planting community.

NETS IS SELECTIVE

ABOUT OUR CHURCH PLANTERS

NETS Residents are chosen from the nation’s top seminaries. Our selection process involves a variety of personal interactions over a number of years. Residents are then evaluated throughout the course of the program, including a mid-point assessment to determine the likeliness of acceptance into the Field Program.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH PLANTS

Though rapid multiplication is gaining popularity, NETS is committed to strategic multiplication – launching fewer, targeted church plants that, once established, will launch additional strategic plants. This allows us to get fully behind each church plant and contributes to the health and success of the church.

NETS IS COMPREHENSIVE

IN OUR TRAINING

NETS does not currently offer boot camps or short-term internships. Our Residency Program requires a minimum two-year commitment. Couples are mentored in content areas ranging from the theological to the personal to the imminently practical. Training is hands-on and varied, and wives are an integral part of the program.

IN OUR SUPPORT

Our skilled support team helps with everything from fundraising to finding a building to building a core team. Field pastors receive coaching and strategic funding for at least four years. Churches in the NETS Network provide additional counsel and committed funds. NETS gets behind a church until it’s established, and stays in the game for the life of the church.

NETS IS MISSIONAL

TO NEW ENGLAND

New England has been called “the New American missional frontier.” Just check out our infographic to find out why! We are bringing the gospel to the least-churched, least Bible-minded, and most post-Christian region of the nation.

TO THE WORLD

Jesus commands us to take the gospel to all nations. NETS supports strategic indigenous church planting and encourages our US plants to do the same. So far we’ve launched two churches in Africa, and are evaluating similar initiatives for India and the Middle East.
